Hi AnilY(2),

For us to know more about the issue I would like to ask;

  • How do you access your account? Is it through a web browser, web email or mobile phone?
  • Does the issue happen when you are using a different browser or computer?
  • Have you received any error or default messages when you send or receive any email?
  • Kindly verify what do you mean "Outlook" Is it Microsoft Office Outlook or Outlook.com?

We recommend that you may please optimize and upgrade your browser to make sure that it isn't contributing to this issue. This will also serve as an initial troubleshooting step to clean up unnecessary clutter in your hard disk and improve browser performance.

To do so, please visit the links below:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/outlook/supported-browsers .

http://www.wikihow.com/Clear-Your-Browser's-Cache

You may also try the steps below:

1. Go to https://account.live.com.

2. Under Other options click on Connect with HTTPS.

3. Choose Use HTTPS automatically.

4. Click on Save.

If the issue still persists please let us know.

Thanks!

The problem is persisting after trying all of the above. It is only affecting one of my accounts. I have other Outlook/hotmail accounts that are working. Here are answers to your questions:

  • Access your account through a web browser, web email (not sure what the difference is between web browser or web email) I'm using "live.com" on the computer.
  • Does the issue happen when you are using a different browser or computer? It happens using a different browser. I haven't tried a different computer
  • Have you received any error or default messages when you send or receive any email? Yes "Outlook wasn't able to complete this request. Microsoft may contact you about any issues you report." when I tried to send an email. However the email was sent and it was received by a different hotmail account.
I sent an email from a different hotmail account to the problem account and it is listed as sent but it was not received.
  • Kindly verify what do you mean "Outlook" Is it Microsoft Office Outlook or Outlook.com? It is Outlook.com

We recommend that you may please optimize and upgrade your browser to make sure that it isn't

I tried this and the other things but it didn;t help. I also shut down my computer and restarted but no change,

Like many others I am getting the same message.

"

I keep getting Sorry, something went wrong. Please try again, or refresh the page. If you keep seeing this message, go to Service status to check if there's a problem with Hotmail.

I keep getting a yellow box at the top of my email page....

Sorry, something went wrong. Please try again, or refresh the page.  If you keep seeing this message, go toService status to check if there's a problem with Hotmail.  Can someone please answer this question/problem?"

I access my mail through my internet browser.  I never had this issue before Outlook took over---

I feel like I have to refresh my email every few seconds-- my cache is cleared many times a day-- it is annoying to be told that something is ALWAYS wrong with Outlook/Hotmail.

Hi doodle121458,

Welcome to Microsoft Community!

I can see that being unable to access your mailbox is not a very pleasant experience for you and understand your level of discomfort. It would be more helpful if you can provide us more details about your issue. Please refer to the guide questions below so we can identify the possible cause of your concern and provide you the troubleshooting steps to resolve it:

  • Do you encounter the same problem when you access your account using a different browser?
  • Does the same issue persist when you access your account using a different computer?
  • Does the same issue happen when you access other Microsoft accounts on the same computer and browser?

Please post back your answers so we can further assist you with your concern.

Thank you,
Alix Xedjhidee

I never said I was unable to access my mailbox.  I am not sure where you read that.

What I said is that I am constantly getting the message that "there is something wrong, please refresh.  I get this anytime I try to look at a message, clear a mailbox, etc.  I am spending majoring of my time refreshing Hotmail/Outlook.

I never had this issue before Outlook took over.

I can't answer about another browser because I only use Google Chrome.

I can't answer about using another computer because I only have the one laptop.

I can't answer about using other Microsoft accounts because this one is the only one I have.

All I know is that I, and many others, keep getting the same message about 'something is wrong'.

I clear my cache, I make sure there are no issues on you main site, etc.

Please fix this-- I am not the only one.

Sharon

Hi,

The reason why we are asking such questions is for us to determine where the problem is coming from. Now, we would like you to try other browsers so we can make sure that it is not causing the issue, please refer on the link below for the list of browsers that is supported by Outlook:

Which browsers are supported by SkyDrive, People and Outlook.com?

Feel free to ask if you have more questions.

Thank you

I understand why you are asking the questions-- I was answering them.  I was not disputing the reason you were asking.

All I questioned was where you got the idea I couldn't access my mail-- I never had said that.  I said I was being told something was wrong-- that doesn't imply that I couldn't access mail.

As for other browsers I have no other browsers on my computer.  IE 8/9 crashes many of the applications I use on the computer.  Firefox is extremely laggy.  I have only used Google Chrome for years.

I initiate private message to keep your email address from public view.

Note:

You need to click the notification that states "You have a private reply to this message. Click here to read it on our secure private message section," or by clicking the "Private Messages" tab.

We will be waiting for your reply.
